Vizio Overtakes Samsung as the number one LCD manufacturer in the US
Friday, May 8, 2009 at 8:28AM According to a press release by iSupply, Vizio captured 21.6% of unit shipments in the first quarter of this year surpassing Samsung for the first time. The top five manufactures of LCD TVs are as follows:
- Vizio
- Samsung
- SONY
- LG
- Sharp
While the price is hard to beat and the TVs produce a good picture, the reliability may not be on par with Samsung and SONY. Do a quick check next time you are at Costco, ask the returns desk what TV comes back the most. If they say anything other than Vizio we'll be surprised.

Love your show, but you should check out the non-network shows some time too! Battlestar Galactica which just ended on SciFi was one of the best shows of all-time (and not just SciFi) (and critically acclaimed), but I don't recall you ever mentioning it in you regular review of TV shows. Its new prequel (Caprica) is going to be worth checking out. If you like SciFi and are looking for some great summer shows, rent BSG!
